Thank you to the students in Mr. Conant’s fifth period Digital Video Editing II class for all of their hard work in producing this video update.

After taking a Christmas break from posting, we wanted to welcome you back to the new year by updating you on the progress being made towards some of the goals that we had set to start the school year.

Our wonderful staff and hard-working students have shown great progress in meeting our goals.  You will get to meet one of these staff members in this episode, as well as hear highlights about what our students are accomplishing spiritually, personally, and academically.

One special component of this month’s video update is yet to be seen footage of our students blessing a local pizza delivery man with a $500 tip prior to Christmas.  Many of you were able to see footage of this event through a video that went viral on Facebook, but the footage shared here is the best we could find of this awesome moment unfolding.

  • Please mark your calendars and be looking for future announcements, as we are planning to provide a College Readiness Workshop for Parents, that will help you to know how to interpret your child’s EXPLORE, PLAN, and PSAT scores and how to set specific learning goals for your child based on their results.  The date of the workshop will be on Saturday, March 9th from 9:00am-12:00pm.  More details to come.

Thank you to the students in Mr. Conant’s fifth period Digital Video Editing II class for all of their hard work in producing this video update.

For the month of November our goal was to highlight for you our priority commitment to cultivating and maintaining a positive School Culture here at GCCS.

We believe in fostering a Christ-centered, vibrant school culture.  A culture like this is not developed by just a few.  It requires the prayers, spiritual growth, and positive contribution of everyone involved in the school.

In this episode, Mr. Conant and Mrs. Jeffries share about a couple of current initiatives that will be good for you to be aware of as you seek to make your own contribution to a vibrant, Christ-centered culture here at GCCS.

You will also be introduced to one of our newest staff members, Mrs. Henry, who will be making her impact in our school through the Foreign Language department as a French instructor.

Bullying & Social Media Assembly

Thank you to the students in Mr. Conant’s fifth period Digital Video Editing II class for all of their hard work in producing this video assembly.

This post is the first of what will be two posts in the month of November, that will focus on our priority commitment to cultivating and maintaining a positive School Culture here at GCCS.

We believe in fostering a Christ-centered, vibrant school culture.  For us this starts with a commitment to providing a respectful, orderly, safe, and loving environment amongst students, faculty, staff, and parents.

One effort that is central to developing this type of environment is the prevention of bullying.  The month of October was National Bullying Prevention Month and we invited Detective Rick Steller from the Grove City Police Department to come in and educate our students on the topics of Bullying and Social Media.  Detective Steller is on the Board of Directors of the Ohio Police Juvenile Officers Association, and is one of Ohio’s foremost authorities on the use of social media by juveniles and those committing offenses against them.

Thank you to the students in Mr. Conant’s fifth period Digital Video Editing II class for all of their hard work in producing this video update. 

In this episode we highlight one of our priority commitments here at Grove City Christian School, which is:  Staff Well-Being.

We believe in fostering a professional environment that contributes to the whole person of each staff member.

  • For us this starts with making a contribution to the Spiritual Health of each staff member.   We believe in fostering an environment of prayer, worship, personal bible study, and spiritual support amongst our entire team.  We are confident that a team of educators who are seeking first God’s kingdom, will be most blessed in their efforts to educate the children at our school.  In this episode, Mrs. Clark shares about her experience in ministry here at GCCS and her personal passion for the gospel.
  • Another portion of contributing to the whole person of our staff,  is an investment into their Personal Health.  Attractive benefits packages, wellness promotion, and support from our human resources department are just a few examples of the ways that we  work to provide a professional environment that is enriching, motivating, and healthy for our educational team.  In this episode, Beth Anne Hardy, our director of Human Resources, talks about her passion for supporting our wonderful faculty and staff here at GCCS.
  • Our third effort in developing the whole person is providing our faculty and staff with an environment of empowering Professional Development.   Our goal is to empower a motivated educational team through: individual goal setting, accountability, collaboration,  and continuing education opportunities.   We believe that a Christ-centered faculty and staff, who are sharpening their skills, gifts, and expertise – is what will ultimately cultivate the Quality Christian Leaders that we desire.

In this episode we highlight what is at the center of our approach here at Grove City Christian School:  Student Well-Being.

When it comes to students, we believe in developing the whole person.

  • For us this starts with making a contribution to the Spiritual Health of each student.  In this episode, Mr. Holley shares some fascinating information that we have learned about the spiritual health of the students in the high school.
  • Another part of developing the whole person, is making a contribution to the Personal Health of each student.  I had a chance to visit with our school nurse Kathy Whitaker and ask her how we can all work together to help make our young people more healthy this school year.
  • Our third effort in developing the whole person, is contributing to the future of each student through College and Career Guidance.  In this episode Mrs. Gillespie, our school guidance counselor, sat down with me to explain what you need to know about college and career readiness here at GCCS.
